LE Boxter Turnout 0g

The award-winning turnout, in a lightweight 0g

We’re proud to stock the Leader Equine Boxter Turnout, winner of the Horse Innovation Category at the 2024 Equitana Business Awards. This 0g, no-fill version gives your horse the lightest weight of waterproof protection, making it ideal for wet but mild weather, rainy spring and autumn days, or horses that run warm and don’t need extra insulation.

Designed around the horse

Leader Equine built the Boxter with your horse’s comfort as the priority, focusing on freedom to graze, freedom to move and safety in the paddock.

For grazing, that meant taking pressure away from under the neck so your horse can drop their head comfortably. For movement, it meant studying how the shoulder and scapula actually move, which led to the design-protected Boxter Dart. For safety, it meant creating the design-protected Field Safe Front Closure, which is secure and comfortable at the chest and shaped to reduce the risk of catching on haynets and some types of fencing. Both features are recognised with design protection for being unique in the world.

Waterproof, breathable and built tough

With a 10,000mm waterproof and 10,000 breathability rating, the Boxter keeps your horse dry while letting moisture escape, so they don’t get clammy underneath. The 1200D polyester outer is strong and durable for everyday paddock life, and the anti-static, anti-bacterial 210T lining sits smoothly against the coat.

Detachable neck with a smarter fit

The matching detachable neck cover is attached with a lifted design that sits slightly off the base of the mane. When your horse reaches down to graze, the neck cover can move more freely over the mane, reducing friction and rubbing on the hair without affecting the fit of the rug.

Layer up as the weather turns

Liner loops let you add warmth when you need it, using either Leader Equine Boxter Liners or Horseware liners. The Boxter Liners follow the same design as the top rug, so your horse keeps the same freedom of movement when layered.
