We’re excited to stock the Leader Equine Boxter Turnout, winner of the Horse Innovation Category at the 2024 Equitana Business Awards. The Boxter Pony 50g brings the same thoughtful design to a dedicated pony fit, available in sizes 4'3" to 5'3".

Leader Equine designed the Boxter with your horse’s comfort as the number one priority. That meant looking closely at three things every rug should get right: freedom to graze, freedom to move and safety in the paddock.

Freedom to graze and move

Many rugs pull tight under the neck when a pony drops its head to eat. The Boxter takes that pressure away, so your pony can graze comfortably all day. Its design-protected Boxter Dart was developed by studying how the shoulder and scapula actually move, giving a fit that follows your pony’s natural stride rather than restricting it.

Safer in the paddock

The design-protected Field Safe Front Closure keeps the rug secure and well fitted at the chest, while being shaped to reduce the risk of catching on haynets and some types of fencing.

Waterproof, tough and versatile

With a 10,000mm waterproof rating, the Boxter sits at the top end of what’s available in horse rugs. The 1200D polyester outer is strong and breathable, and the 50g thermobonded fill is a versatile weight that suits most ponies across several seasons. It’s also liner compatible, so you can add warmth when the weather turns.

The detachable neck cover comes included and features a clever lifted attachment design. This gives the neck cover more movement when your pony reaches down to graze, reducing rubbing on the mane without affecting the fit of the rug.
