Decron Hoof Boot

The major benefit for using the Decron Hoof Poultice Boot is when you have a need to treat hoof sole, frog or heel bulbs with a poultice application.

Once you have applied the poultice application, simply place the hoof into the Decron Hoof Poultice Boot. This boot aids the horse by taking the weight from the hoof and allows the boot to absorb concussion and assists to remove the pain that the horse would normally feel when it is walking whilst recovering from your poultice application.

The most appropriate way of treating hoof issues is to
1. Clean the hoof sole and heel bulbs.
2. Apply a liberal amount of Decron Osmotic Gel to the hoof sole area.
3. Cover the hoof with a felt pad or cover with a gauze dressing. Secure this with a vetwrap bandage.
4. Place the hoof into the Decron Hoof Boot and then follow the instructions as shown below.

The Decron Hoof Boot is also an ideal accessory for air and land travel. The Decron Hoof Boot protects the horse’s hooves and limbs from injury caused by the shoes being pulled during travel.

Instructions for use:

Place the Decron Hoof Boot onto the hoof and pull the tabs firmly – the orthopaedic felt will stretch around the bulbs of the heel, ensuring a nice firm fit. It is important that the boot does not shift when placed under pressure.

Use a cohesive bandage to totally wrap the Decron Hoof Boot, extending the bandage half way up the pastern, so it is firm but not tight on the skin. This ensures that the Decron Hoof Boot is airtight. Depending on the conditions underfoot, the Decron Hoof Boot can be made more durable by covering the cohesive bandage with an adhesive bandage.
